How Aqua-Barrier® helps with Water Management
The Aqua-Barrier® is HSI’s patented water-inflated cofferdam system, designed to provide temporary water control without many of the materials and site impacts associated with conventional methods such as sandbags and earthen dams.
At the heart of the Aqua-Barrier is its patented internal restraint system. The baffles help stabilize the water-filled barrier under hydrostatic pressure, allowing the system to create a dependable temporary barrier for a range of water-control applications.
- Construction dewatering: Creating dry work areas for bridge, culvert, shoreline, intake, outfall and other in-water construction and maintenance projects.
- Pipeline and infrastructure work: Temporarily isolating work zones for installation, inspection, maintenance and repair.

Our water-inflated temporary cofferdams consist of the following:
The Aqua-Barrier is a self contained, single tube with an inner restraint baffle(s) stabilization system. The water-inflated dam has the ability to stand alone, without any additional external, mechanical, or gravitational stabilization devices.
The water-inflated dam is produced from a heavy gauge polyvinyl chloride (PVC) reinforced with polyester. The PVC fabric used to create the inflatable dam is in-field repairable utilizing a vinyl adhesive and patch material, the PVC fabric used to create the inflatable dam’s outer membrane is able to be repaired in-field, wet or dry.
The Aqua-Barrier®’s baffle(s) ensures mechanical integrity which provides stability when exposed to uneven hydrostatic pressure from either side. All Aqua-Barrier® installations require a minimum of 25% freeboard, with potential additional requirements contingent on the surface flow rate.
The water-inflated dam is equipped with patented pipe-loops on both ends, which allow you to maneuver the system with heavy equipment during installation and removal, ultimately minimizing the manual labor involvement.
The method for connecting individual units together consists of simply overlapping the ends of the barriers, at any angle, which creates a watertight connection. No other devices or methods for connecting the barriers are neccessary.
Our 4in and 8in ports are equipped with floatable caps, ensuring easy retrieval and deployment during water management operations. Additionally, all caps feature female threading with National Pipe Thread (NPT), enhancing convenience during barrier usage.

We used an Aqua Barrier to isolate one of our water tunnels from the downstream canal section so we could dewater the tunnel for an inspection without having to dewater the next 6 miles of canal - we saved considerable time by only having to dewater the approximate half mile long 22-ft diameter tunnel and only about two hundred feet of canal. The barrier was easy to install, easy to inflate, and easy to remove after the project. We will certainly use Aqua Barrier again for other inspections and canal work we have.

I guess this place does a good job. Which makes it all the more disappointing that they openly support a presidential candidate who is all over Jeffrey Epstein's flight logs, all over Jeffrey Epstein's phone message logs, and has a lengthy list of child sexual assault allegations. With an entire list of children's families who were paid hush money. They also openly support a presidential candidate who has consistently praised the actions of communist autocrats like Kim jong-un, Vladimir Putin and Xi jinping. He promised a wall, he promised it would be paid for by Mexico, he promised healthcare, he promised infrastructure, the list goes on and on of broken promises. But he did manage to pass a record tax break for the richest Americans, further adding to the biggest deficit any president has ever rung up in this country's history. Maybe that's what this company is all about after all. Yet another tax break.

The Aqua Barrier product works as described and is very flexible for our job needs. The installation is relatively straight forward and created a buffer between the work zone and the body of water within a day. After seeing the installation process and dewatering efforts afterwards, I believe the aqua barrier saved a significant amount of time on the front end of our projects.
